Make me a marketer!

‘Mummy, I want to be a marketer when I grow up!’

Said nobody, ever.

And yet, for every product that exists, every box office hit, every favourite album, every trusted hairdresser, every – well, you name it. It all relies – to varying degrees – on marketing.

So while it’s unlikely you felt the urgent pull of learning how to create email lists, tackle SEO, and dip your toes into the heady world of branding from a young age – if you want to create your own product or blog or service…well then my friends, you need to be a marketer.

And I’m here to help you.

I’ve been working in the slightly bonkers world of brand and marketing for fifteen years, and in that time, much has changed. But much has stayed the same, too.

I believe that with some basic brand and marketing principles (along with more complex, if you’re feeling feisty!), anyone can feel confident in offering their brand to the world.

Now, before you can market anything you need to be clear on what you’re offering.

What’s the product or service you can’t wait to bring to market?

Perhaps before having kids you were a school teacher, but have zero wish of returning to the classroom. What skills, insights, support, or guidance can you offer to people that’ll help them solve a problem they’re facing?

Now when I say ‘problem’, we’re not necessarily talking about a whopping great issue that nobody knows how to solve. Often (and arguably, most valuably) it’ll be the day-to-day stumbling blocks that crop up that you might have a nifty way of fixing (or avoiding in the first place.)

And that’s the absolute key when it comes to marketing – especially content marketing (which is, in my opinion, the greatest and most effective) … solving problems and making life easier knowing your audience (the more specific, the better), knowing their pain points, and showing up in the places they seek out content with genuinely useful information that’ll make their life that little bit easier

My aim with this blog is to be a supportive and encouraging voice to entrepreneurial women, women who want to leave the 9-5 grind and build something of their own, women raising kids who want to turn a hobby or passion into a profitable business, would-be-bloggers who want to understand the nuts and bolts of how to do it all.

Whatever it is you want to bring to the world, knowing how to position it, brand it, market it, make it irresistable to your target audience – that’s what I’d like to help you with.

Ready? Let’s make you a marketer!
